Methodology
What does it mean to work with a real estate broker whose approach is grounded in design Management?
Design management is a discipline that draws on research, data collection, analysis, synthesis, creativity, business and strategy to produce insightful and innovative deliverables that add meaningful and user-centric value. In the real estate context, the user-centric value combines design thinking with core competencies associated with the field - sales & marketing.
In the real estate context, I employ design management skills in the manner in which I uncover, execute, and advance my client’s strategic objectives. Instead of merely focusing on the transaction at hand, I help clients consider usage, lifestyle, aesthetics, maintenance costs, and holding periods all in the context of a an ever-changing market.
As a design thinker, I practice and exist in the real estate space with a nod to the triple bottom line- economic, social/cultural, and environmental responsibility.
How does Design Thinking come into play?
Design thinking is applied in how I execute. For example, by personally exhibiting and teaching my teams to function with heightened empathy, we are able to more effectively engage with clients, landlords, and other stakeholders.
